The North Dakota plains has always been a special place for me. I grew up running in wheat fields, following deer paths through the trees, collecting feathers and staying up late to watch the fantastic view of the night sky. There is something special about life on the plains, we are people of the land and sky, so connected to the earth as we bring it to life to make food for the world, and yet beyond the soles of our feet in this flat vastness we are living in a great blue sky that stretches as far as the eye can see.
Life gets busy, takes us places we never imagined, sometimes even leading us in directions we would rather not tread. When we struggle against the flow life is hard work. We find ourselves feeling cut off from the source and wondering why things don't go well no matter how hard we try. When we embrace who we know we are deep inside and go with the current life opens up to us in ways we can't imagine, bringing abundance and joy.
When we stumble off the path of our calling; belief, friends, family and self improvement can help us find our way back. This can be both exciting and sometimes a little scary. We may be embracing something we know in our hearts to be true or we might be finally making our own way despite other's advice.
Practices such as Reiki, meditation, dowsing, Qi Gong, Feng Shui, mantras, prayer, singing and crafting can help us on our journey. They give us strength to come truly into ourselves and feel more connected within the present moment.
Simple things all around us can transform into that which bring us happiness, a sense of wellbeing and a reminder of our connection to the greater whole. Pebbles, seeds, grasses and dried flowers, shells, fossils the impression of a paw print in wet earth can transform into wreaths, ornaments, bouquets, incense, and keep sakes.
Work, family, home, community, oneself, are all part of something that leaves a record in history and sets the stage for the future. These are the strands that make the web of our lives. The Sacred web of who we are and what we are a part of should be celebrated and kept whole. Reiki, meditation, exercise, eating good food, keeping clean clear space, lending a helping hand, singing from the heart, all send ripples out into the lives of others enriching our story, and helps us become our true self.
When we remember to connect all we do, all we experience, all we are to what is all around us we experience what is True.
